Can I check rates without making a reservation?

You may request a quotation and check availability without making a reservation. Complete only the first pages of the rates and reservations process. If you wish to make a reservation at this time and with these details, simply continue by pressing the “Book Now” Button.

How will I know my reservation is confirmed?

At the end of the reservation process, you will receive a “Reservation Confirmation” page with the reservation number highlighted. You will also receive a confirmation email containing the details of your reservation and collection procedure.

Can I extend the rental duration?

Extending the rental duration is possible at the time of check out or during the rental itself. You will need to contact or come in person to the nearest location. The extension is subject to vehicle availability and extra payment.

Is it possible to cancel or modify my reservation once it is confirmed?

Yes, it is. Please contact our Reservations Staff, and they will be more than happy to help. 1300 227 473 or NZ 0800 445 492

Can I pay for my reservation online?

Yes, you can. When you complete your reservation, select Pay Now to process your payment on the spot.

Do you offer long term rental options?

Yes, Alpha Car Hire offers medium and long-term hire agreements. These are costed on a case-by-case basis. Please call 1300 227 473 for a quote on a long-term hire.

Can I use another persons Credit Card to pay for my rental?

Yes, however, the person with the credit card must be on the Rental Contract as the main driver, so they will need to have a current open driver's licence written in English.

Do we charge cancellation Fees?

Alpha Car Hire Trading Pty Ltd reserves the right to charge a minimum cancellation fee of $75 if cancelling within 72 hours of collection.

What happens if I return the vehicle late?

If the vehicle is returned up to 1 hour late, one-third of the rental will be charged. If it is returned greater than two hours late, two-thirds of the rental will be charged, and if returned three hours late or more, then a full day's rental is charged.

In the event of an accident what am I liable to pay?

What methods of payment do Alpha Car Hire accept?

Alpha Car Hire Trading Pty Ltd accepts cash, EFTPOS and most major Credit Cards including Visa, and Mastercard. Alpha Car Hire Australia Pty Ltd does require that the main driver on the vehicle holds a current credit card for bond purposes. Unfortunately, we do not accept Amex or Diners cards.

Do I need to check the condition of the vehicle prior to leaving the keys at the counter?

Yes, and if you found a new apparent defect (not listed on the vehicle statement remitted at the time of pick up) you have to inform the Alpha Car Hire employee for joint examination. You will also receive photos of your vehicle by email upon collection. Please refer to the Alpha Car Hire Fair Wear and Tear Guide.

Can I return the vehicle outside the location operating hours?

Yes, you may return your vehicle when the Alpha Car Hire location is closed if prior arrangements have been made. The vehicle will remain your responsibility until it has been checked by a representative of Alpha Car Hire.

Where can I not drive the rental vehicle?

You may drive an Alpha vehicle in most states and Territories however travel is not permitted into or out of the Northern Territory, Western Australia and Tasmania. Travel to any destination via barge or ferry transport is not permitted. Vehicles cannot be driven on unsealed roads or in snow.

Do I need to have an International Drivers Licence?

If you will not be driving for a period that is longer then three (3) months and you have an International Drivers Licence it will be honored by Australian law. If you plan to stay in Australia for more than three months and intend to drive for that period you are required to obtain an International Drivers Permit.

Can I tow using an Alpha Car Hire Vehicle?

No, an Alpha Car Hire vehicle cannot be used to tow or push anything, this forms part of the rental terms and conditions.

How many free kilometres per day?

Unless otherwise specified, the following FREE Kilometres apply to all passenger vehicle classes: 500 Kilometres free per day Unless otherwise specified, the following FREE Kilometres apply to all commercial Vehicle Classes: 100 Kilometres free per day, or you may negotiate your requirements to suit your needs at the time of booking extra kilometres are charged at 32.5 cents per kilometre.

What age do I have to be to rent a vehicle?

The minimum age for all drivers is 21 on a full licence. Drivers aged 21 to 25 are restricted to a compact or intermediate car. Drivers must be on a full licence, we do not hire to provisional drivers. All Drivers under the age of 25 are subject to an additional daily surcharge of $28 inclusive of GST, this will reduce the standard excess to $1,100

Can anyone other than myself drive the car?

Nobody can drive an Alpha Car Hire Vehicle whose name does not appear on the Rental Agreement. When collecting the vehicle each driver must be listed on the Rental Agreement and they must present their drivers licence at time of collection.

If I lock my keys in the vehicle am I covered by Road Side Assistance?

No, Roadside Assistance does not cover non-mechanical defects such as lost keys, keys locked in the vehicle, flat battery due to lights being left on etc. You can however purchase our Roadside Assistance Cover which will cover you in the event of any non-mechanical callouts

How does Alpha Car Hire protect my personal and credit card information online?

The online reservation service is located on a secure server that guarantees the safety of the transaction. The system uses SSL encrypting technology. SSL works by encrypting all communications between your computer and our server so the information cannot be intercepted.

Do you hire baby capsules?

No we do not hire baby capsules but we have a limited number of forward and rear-facing baby seats and booster seats available upon request

New Year Activities

If you live around Sunshine Coast or are planning a road trip getaway to one of its many tourist attractions, then stay and mingle with the locals and other tourists when you join in on the New Year festivities. Here are some of the events you can expect around the Sunshine Coast:

Mooloolaba

Mooloolaba is best known for its great dining places and white sand beaches. There is always something for everyone all year round, but it gets turned up a notch this holiday season. The grand finale for the evening will be a fireworks display that is set to start around 9:30 pm on New Year’s Eve.

Join the fun at Tickle Park, Coolum Beach and enjoy favourite fair fares such as popcorn, fairy floss and sausage sizzle. Sit back and relax in Tickle Park and enjoy your time sitting on the grass with your family, telling stories, having a few pints, and enjoying yourselves. The party starts at 5 pm and will end with some fireworks display around 9 in the evening

Novotel Twin Waters

Make your reservations and stay at the hotel and take part in the musical performance of Radio Flyer in Novotel’s new outdoor summer venue: The Shore and other types of live entertainment and music. It’s a great way to spend time with your loved ones and also a chance for you to welcome the new year in style and comfort.

Noosa

Enjoy some great music and company when you choose to welcome the New Year at Noosa Marina. The restaurants in the area have special New Year’s Eve celebrations and offer the best views of the fireworks display. There are two sets of fireworks for that day, one at around 9 in the evening and the last one at midnight.

New Year’s Eve Cruise

Come on board the Whale One and take part in their New Year’s Eve Cruise along the Mooloolah River. No worries because you are not entering the new year on an empty stomach. The cruise has plenty of food from the hot and cold buffet dinner and desserts. You can even partake in some beers and wine for the adults and soft drinks for the younger passengers. The ship’s upper and lower decks offer an uninterrupted view of the fireworks display. Indeed, the best way to usher in a new year.
