South Bank Parklands
The South Bank Parklands are located at South Bank, Brisbane and come alive on a Friday night. The area is a buzz with art and craft markets, restaurants and local pubs.
The Parklands consist of a mixture of water, rainforests and grassed area as well as features such as the riverfront promenade, the Streets Beach, the Suncorp Piazza, the Nepal Peace Pagoda, the Wheel of Brisbane, shops and fountains. The parklands are also home to the Queensland Conservatorium.
South Bank and its parklands are one of Brisbane's most important cultural precincts and they regularly host large scale festivals and events. Approximately 11 million people visit South Bank Parklands each year.
The South Bank Lifestyle Markets offer a great range of arts, crafts, homewares, collectibles and clothing. They run every Friday (5pm – 10pm), Saturday (10am – 5pm) and Sunday (9am – 5pm). On the first Sunday of every month there are the Young Designers Markets which feature cutting edge garments and accessories from Brisbane’s most talented young designers. Check them out between 10am and 4pm.
