The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, happening from the 13th to the 17th of May, gives Australian designers the runway floor and the opportunity to show the world just what they can do.
This year’s show will feature big names in the fashion industry like Camilla and Marc. The brand will be celebrating 15 years in the industry, and so will open up the festivities on Sunday, May 13 and will top it off on the last day of the event with an evening show.
Another featured guest is London-based designer Emilia Wickstead. She collaborated with Matchesfashion.com and is set to reveal her resort collection on May 15.
Local labels will be given their time to shine during the event, with Albus Lumen, Bianca Spender, Lee Matthews, Michael Lo Sordo, Romance Was Born, Christopher Esber and Akira are all scheduled to participate in this prestigious event.
Veterans in the fashion industry aren’t the only ones expected to make a big splash during the event. Rookie designers for the event are expected to showcase their first dip into the fashion world. Some of the names to watch out for include: Blair Archibald, Deadly Ponies, I.am.Gia, Leo+Lin and Pereira Fitzgerald, and musician Client Liaison will be there as well.
