If you’re visiting Sydney, chances are you’ll drive on one of the nine tollroads forming the Sydney Motorway Network. Below you will find options on how to pay for your toll trips.
Cashless tolling
The majority of Sydney tollroads have cashless tolling, so they only accept payment electronically.
You will need either an electronic tag or an electronic pass to pay your tolls on a cashless tollroad. If you do not have a tag, you can obtain a toll pass before you leave home or up to 48 hours after you use a cashless tollroad. As a car rental customer the best way to pay for your toll travels is with a toll pass.
Pass
An electronic pass is an arrangement where your number plate is temporarily recorded in the tolling system. If you are visiting Sydney or are an infrequent user of toll roads, this may be your best payment option for the fully electronic motorways. You can use a pass in the lanes marked with the red and white 'e' symbol. With pass products you'll pay an additional administration fee for each trip you make on a motorway. You can use a pass on any toll road in Sydney.
