The Swap&Shop Event

To help us fundraise for the Variety Bash Alpha will be hosting a Swap&Shop event. This is the perfect time to swap pre-loved items with new exciting ones (to the new owner) and not break the budget. It's a whole new wardrobe to paint the town red in! On the night there will also be amazing prizes to be won and goody bags for everyone.

How Swap&Shop works

Bring along 5 items that you still value but aren't emotionally attached to and we give you 5 tickets as your currency for new items - tops, skirts, dresses, pants, jeans, necklaces, bracelets, rings. You check these in at the door and we screen them for quality (so make sure you bring items that can be worn by someone else) and then we sort them into types to make it easier for you to shop. This check-in process can take up to an hour but in the meantime you get to enjoy a light refreshments and live entertainment. Once the check-in process is complete we open the doors to ensure everyone has a fair swap. When you are happy with your new wardrobe you proceed to check out to pay for you items with your tickets. It's super simple!

Why is Alpha involved?

In 2011 the Alpha directors wanted to give back to the community and started their search for a charity. Soon they came across Variety the Children's Charity and loved their concept - giving hope to all types of sick and disadvant aged children. In 2012 we decided to become more involved in the Charity and took up the challenge of the Variety Bash.

The Bash is staged by Variety the children's charity Queensland to raise funds to assist in bringing about an improved quality of life for special children in Queensland. Since the first Queensland Bash in 1990, in excess of $15 million has been raised to help empower special Queensland kids to live, laugh and learn.
