Ahh, the Gold Coast, Queensland’s number one tourist destination. And there is no wonder why when such a plethora of attractions are available in one place! A great annual event to cheer on is the V8 Supercars in October, or how about the Gold Coast Marathon? The city is also known as “Australia’s playground” with its variety of family-friendly theme parks including Dreamworld, Sea World, Movie World and Wet’n’Wild Water Park. For something a little more laid back, perhaps enjoy the beach views from Q1, the tallest building in the southern hemisphere, which boasts an observation deck (Skypoint) on level 77. The Gold Coast experiences mild winters and warm and humid summers (a typical humid subtropical climate). There is a substantial amount of summer precipitation giving it the name of “the Summer blues” while winters are sunny, warm and fairly dry.
